I'm a film photographer based in Southern Utah, where I love to explore the outdoors and capture the beauty of the desert and the rural lifestyle. I'm drawn to the nostalgia and the process of making photographs with old, analog cameras and mainly medium format and 4x5 large format film. I also develop most of my own film, which gives me a great sense of satisfaction and control over the entire length of the photographic process from composing the photo to processing and scanning the negatives. I even spend time in my darkroom creating hand-made prints from time to time.
I'm inspired by the everyday moments that often go unnoticed, sometimes a landscape, sometimes an old building or a broken-down piece of farm machinery. I live on a ranch, which influences the subjects that I find to photograph, and I love capturing these stories through my lens.
I believe that film photography is a unique and special way to capture the world around us. It's a process that requires patience, slowing down, and the ability to embrace and appreciate the imperfections and flaws that analog photography brings. I hope that my photographs will inspire others to get out and explore the world around us and discover a love for film photography.
